Fall 2024 is shaping up to be an exciting season for non-fiction fans. In the coming months, several notable names are sharing their unique stories through biographies and memoirs, from sports giants to culinary icons to Hollywood’s favourite stars.

Buzzy new titles from heavy-hitters Yuval Noah Harari and Malcolm Gladwell will also be making their way to bookstores this fall, offering up unique takes on the evolution of information networks and social epidemics respectively.

Kristi Reilly, Indigo’s Sr. Experience & Curation Manager, Adult Books & Vinyl revealed that it’s a change of pace from last year’s biggest nonfiction trends, when cookbooks dominated the space.

“Last year cookbooks led the way in the non-fiction category when we look at total sales during the September to December time period. [This year] we are heading into the biggest biography season we have seen in a while and expect this trend to continue,” she said.

“We are very excited about the number of biographies from big names that are set to be released this fall, including works from Stanley Tucci, DeMar DeRozan, Murray Sinclair, Ina Garten and many more.”
